On Thursday, January 26th, the MHS Swimming and Diving team took on Walsh Jesuit in a non-conference meet at the Medina Community Recreation Center. The main event was the recognition of MHS seniors before the meet began.

Senior night recognized the eight seniors on the team including swimmers Lexie Agee, Derek Walker, Erin Cuppet, Josh Burns, Bailey Synderstricker, Allie Lyncha and divers Matt Horoschak and Mikayla Anter.

With a strong core of upperclassmen, Medina held the meet close but had a tough loss to Walsh with an end score of 182-178.

Lexie Agee has been an important piece to this team´s proficiency with four broken records in her career and a passion to help the MHS Swim Team succeed.

¨I have been swimming for about 8 years,¨ Agee said. ¨My dad was a swimmer in school and I fell in love with the sport from the start.¨

She has committed to Canisius College in Buffalo, New York to continue her swimming career.

Coach Anthony Petruzzi Sr. has high hopes for his team. With an increase in their training, MHS Swimming and Diving team are in their most competitive shape.

The coed team is making a splash this season as they are currently 10-2 with no signs of slowing down.

The MHS diving team has an OHSAA District Diving meet on February 14th at Bowling Green State University.
