With three new coaches and experience from veteran players, the Medina Boys Lacrosse season is beginning with a high level of confidence.
Coach Kubasta is the new varsity head coach; he, with new assistant Coach Lyle and Bennett, are ready for the season as they prepare the athletes for their upcoming games.
Last season, the boys managed to make it to the state semi-finals, but lost in the second round of the playoffs.
Sophomore varsity player, Nathan Bonnell, believes they will have a better chance this year – quite possibly matching their state championship season a few years ago.
Both Bonnell and senior Zach Brenner agree that the coaches are one of the reasons they could go further into the playoffs this season.
“They’re more strict, and we’re ready to play,” said Bonnell.
After last year’s loss in the playoffs, everyone is ready to redeem themselves. The are committed and prepared to put the needed effort to go further than last year.
“I hope to go far in the playoffs, and to also play a lot,” said Brenner.
Be sure to support the team in their first away game this Saturday, March 28th, against Shaker Heights.
