Step Up to Prevent Suicide

The community is coming together to walk suicide out of the county and raise awareness to the citizens of Medina.

The prevention walk is in the Medina Square on Sunday, April 26, 2015. Registration is free and will begin at 12 p.m. on the day of the walk or you can register online at: Alternative Paths Inc. is accepting donations for the three-and-a-half mile walk around Medina.

The starting time is scheduled for 1 pm and the first 300 people to register are promised a free t-shirt. Also, Clear Choice Custom Lasik Center will be providing free ice cream following the walk. It is open for everyone of all ages.

Past participant, Gabrielle Derrig, a junior here at Medina High School, said that, “it was a good experience to be apart of last year. It was good to see how many people are supportive of those they may or may not know.”

This walk is meant to spread positivity and awareness of suicide. It is also a great way to get involved with the community.
