The Medina men’s volleyball team, led by Varsity Coach Marcela Nicolae, battled the St. Ignatius Wildcats on Thursday, May 5. The Bees played on their home court, the Richard E. Clevidence gym, where the bleachers were filled with cheering fans.

They lost in three straight sets (8-25, 19-25, 13-25).

The Bees struggled to pass the Wildcats aggressive serves. With their lack of serve receive, hitting became difficult also. Despite these struggles the Bees played great defense, working to touch every ball that came their way.

Sophomore middle hitter Tom Supan led the team with eight points at the net. Captain Andrew Johnson, a senior middle hitter, also played a large role with four points.

The Bees beat the Hudson Explorers 3-0 on Tuesday night. The usual big scorers Johnson and Supan led the team along with Anthony Supan and Cole Febus. The men’s JV volleyball team also added a win to their record.

Their next match is against Brunswick on Thursday, May 12 at 6pm, Brunswick’s senior night. The men’s volleyball team’s record is currently 13-7.
