On Tuesday, September 13th, the Art and Chinese Clubs met for a joined meeting to celebrate the International Panda Festival, which is usually celebrated for an entire week in China.

At the combined meeting, members of both clubs drew pandas and bamboo led by Art Club Advisor, Mrs. Bobbi Foy and Chinese Club Advisor, Mrs. Shasha Gibbs.

Members were pleased with the turnout and Foy’s art room was filled to capacity.

Co-President of Art Club, junior Abby Fox stated, “I thought it was really fun. It was a great chance to experience different art cultures.”

The paintings will soon be displayed for all to enjoy.

“Mrs. Foy is hanging the paintings in the art hallway,” said Fox. Some have already been hung up by Chinese Club members.

Both clubs enjoyed the time together, allowing for Art Club members to be exposed to Chinese culture, and for Chinese Club members to immerse themselves more in this Chinese art tradition.
