MHS triumphs over Euclid in a 78-4 win

Alex DeFraine recognized on Senior Night with his parents

The Medina Varsity Wrestling team won the GCC Conference dual last night against Euclid on their Senior Night. Five seniors were recognized for their accomplishments this season.

Medina Wrestling has had a fantastic run this year, winning many accomplishments and awards as they continue the season.

“Alex Defraine, Brady Chrisman and Alex Sadowsky all earned over 100 total wins in their career this year” said coach Mr. Wade Chapman.

The team has competed in a variety of matches such as the Kilted Klassic, Maumee Bay Classic, the Medina Invitational Tournament, and Josh Hephner Memorial Tournament. The team has produced many placers and champions including Defraine and Chrisman.

Junior  Chrisman has been wrestling for  MHS for the past three years and also holds the title of an All-American Wrestler.

Chrisman said, “This year, I have tried my best to score as many points as possible during my matches, and it has worked really well so far..”

Spectator Hannah Williams has been to many of the matches this season.

Williams said, “I like going to support the team more than anything else, but I also really appreciate the sport because it’s so different than any other and definitely something I could never do!”
