May the Odds Bee in Our Favor

With band affiliates from all over Northeast Ohio filling the Ken Dukes Stadium parking lots beyond their capacity, the annual Medina Band Show took place on Sep. 16, 2017.

Eight schools visited Medina performing songs ranging from Flo Rida’s “My House” to Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida”. There was even an average song for the night with multiple bands performing A-ha’s “Take On Me”.

Above all the performances, the Musical Bees showed new colors as their theme of “The Hunger Games” set forth a new outlook of how the year will look for them.

The overall show of “May The Odds Be Ever in Your Favor” was intensively glorious, to say the least, with all of their moving pieces Medina’s choreography was limitless due to their abundance of members. Medina’s Color Guard was also an encaptivating part of the performance with their crimson colored costumes.

Co-President of the Musical Bees, Jacob Toth, described the meaning behind the theme of this year’s performance.

“It’s trying to get everyone to group together and work to beat the odds,” said Jacob Toth, elaborating on how we as students and people can conquer all and progress as long as we aren’t alone.

The Musical Bees are excited for this performance as their season goes on, hoping to beat the competition with their rendition of togetherness through “The Hunger Games”.
